About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

The SLO Riders Club is an interscholastic mountain bike for the youth of San Luis Obispo and the surrounding areas. We are resuming our Weekly Ride Program in the Fall, featuring two weekly sessions,  Tiny Sprockets (Ages 4-6) and Little Sprockets (Ages 7-8) on Tuesdays and Youth (Ages 9-11) and Juniors (Ages 12+) on Thursdays. The Weekly Ride program provides riders a safe and fun environment for them to develop skills, resiliency, courage, and a sense of community.

Whether your child wants to take their bike skills to the next level, or just wants to get out and ride more with a community, there's no better opportunity than the SLO Riders Club. All skill levels are welcome!

Dylan Davis

Founder, director and coach

Dylan is a recently graduated Honors Business student at Cal Poly, SLO, originally from Ojai, CA.

Ever since he was three years old, he has had a love for riding bikes. Besides giving him the opportunity to race and be competitive in the sport, mountain biking has been a way for him to unite with the community and share his passion with others. From fixing others’ bikes to volunteering his time working to maintain the local trails, Dylan has strived to help his hometown with the growing sport.

Over the past four years, he has helped coach the Ojai Riders Club in his hometown valley, sharing his enthusiasm and knowledge with riders ranging from five to sixteen years old.

Since moving to SLO, Dylan wished to continue his coaching pursuits, giving birth to the SLO Riders Club.

Levi Folkrod

Head Coach

Levi is a fourth-year Experience Industry Management student at Cal Poly and an Arroyo Grande native. He has been riding and racing bikes for the past 17 years, growing up fully immersed in the world of BMX tracks, skateparks, backyard motocross tracks and homemade jumps.

At four years old he started racing BMX at Santa Maria BMX, and since then he’s continued to grow as a rider, racer, and lifelong lover of cycling. When COVID lockdowns shut down the local BMX scene in 2020, Levi picked up a mountain bike and quickly began riding and competing all over California while still racing the BMX national series.

Some of Levi’s accomplishments this year include finishing 2nd in the 2025 BMX National Championship, winning the Cat 1 division at Sea Otter in both dual slalom and downhill, and taking the top step at the Northstar CES Enduro.

In addition to racing, Levi ran a youth BMX coaching program in Santa Maria until 2022, and has helped lead a youth group for 10-12 year olds at his church since then. He is excited to continue sharing the joy of riding bikes with youth of all ages and skill levels.
